Winston is survived by his wife, Janie Heatley-Barclay son, Wayne Barclay and wife, Sharon of Northport, Alabama daughter, Melissa Smith and husband, Ned of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma grandchildren, Jason Barclay, and wife, Melanie, Stephanie Knight, and husband, Nick, Kimberly Hill, and husband, Daniel, Larissa White, and husband, Jason, and Jessica Smith great-grandchildren, Jaxon Knight, Sierra Knight, Blane Barclay, Addi Grace Barclay, Savannah Hill, Jeremiah Hill, Ava Smith, Audrey White, Madeline White, and Caroline White sister, Linda Newton and husband, Steve. Winston is preceded in death by his first wife, Claudia, and second wife, Frankie and his parents. Winston was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he faithfully taught Sunday school class. He was a member of The Gideons and was a founding member of the Abilene Chapter of Toastmasters. Winston enjoyed camping and created lifelong memories with his family on trips to the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico. Winston found new love recently when he met Janie Heatley and they married in May of 2021. Winston married Frankie Farmer in 1997 and shared 23 years of marriage until her passing. Winston and Claudia shared 37 years of marriage before her passing. Winston married Claudia Lanham in 1959 and together they had 2 children, Wayne and Melissa. Winston also served is country and was in the Navy Reserves. He considered all of his customers as his friends. Winston was a dedicated salesperson and worked for Gates Rubber for 40 years before retiring. He went on to attend Hardin Simmons University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business in 1967. Winston graduated from Abilene High School in 1952. Winston was born on October 25, 1934, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to William Louis Barclay and Dorthea Lorraine Barclay. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Barclay passed away on Tuesday October 4, 2022, in Abilene, Texas.įuneral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, on Monday October 10, 2022, in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
